Have Fun At The Cartoon Art Museum
The Cartoon Art museum in San Francisco is a small, inconspicuous building just behind a bookstore on Mission Street in San Francisco. Inside is a unique and enjoyable museum dedicated to the preservation of Cartoons as an art form. The museum has hosted many different collections of Cartoon art through the years. Even though the space is small, the museum always has an interesting array of displays and has even produced publications of its own. The museum has a collection of over 6,000 original cartoon drawings. For cartoon enthusiasts this is one of the few places in the world to appreciate this art form. With each display, there is a short history of the artist. This museum is for the young at heart and will take you back to the comic book hero’s of your own childhood. The original Garfield, Batman and other early comic book favorites can be seen here as well as a great collection of old TV commercials which you can watch. See the Flintstones characters advertising cigarettes in an advert from bygone days. Check the website to see what the current exhibit is. Come and spend an hour or two browsing this interesting display. The museum is open between 11am and 5pm every day except Monday. It is a wonderful way to pass some time on a rainy San Franciscan day! They update the displays often so you can go often and see something new each time. Come get lost in the world of Cartoon art for an afternoon. You will be glad you stopped by!
