Party At Stern Grove Summer Concerts

Free summer concerts can never be a bad thing. But set these concerts against the backdrop of a San Franciscan summer and you have the makings for a magical evening outdoors. Watch jazz, rock or dance performances. Anything goes here at Stern Grove and there is sure to be something for everyone. Each concert caters to a different genre so whether you are a culture vulture or a punk you will find something worth watching during the summer.

The Sigmund Stern Recreation Grove is a beautiful 33 acre site that is located between 19th Avenue and Sloat Avenue. Since 1938, these summer concerts have taken place in the beautiful redwood and eucalyptus-wooded natural amphitheater. There is lush forest and lakes dotted around the area.

The Stern Grove Festival has been dedicated to providing San Franciscans with free access to a diverse range of performing arts. Luckily, it is not only locals who benefit from this. In a city that is known for being expensive, a free evening’s entertainment comes as a welcome relief. It costs absolutely nothing.

There are also several hiking trails through the park which make for a lovely diversion from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco. It is so peaceful here and a great place to hike, bike or walk your dogs.

Concerts start at 2pm, but eager audiences start arriving early. Seating is first come first serve, as there are no bookings. Pack a picnic and head on down to the Stern Grove summer concerts.

Come enjoy the sounds of San Francisco under the stars.
