Stroll along Pier 39 - San Francisco

Crammed into this pier is over 110 different stores catering to a variety of tastes and price brackets. The street performers are very entertaining too, with magicians, clowns, fire dancers and buskers as some of the performers you might stumble across on a stroll through Pier 39. If you are looking for San Francisco themed trinkets and souvenirs this is the perfect place.

There are 13 restaurants on Pier 39 many of them specializing in seafood. One should not miss out on the famous clam chowder that is cheaply available from the vendors, it’s very tasty! Either way you get to enjoy a meal with a magnificent view over the bay. Have a sundowner on Pier39 and watch the hustle and bustle.

The Sea Lions are Pier 39’s most popular residents. Children and adults love to watch the large sea lion population which lives just below the pier and all around. They laze in the sun to the delight of many thousands of onlookers each year.

There are many child friendly attractions making Pier 39 a great venue for families. The Aquarium of the Bay is situated in the area and is very easy to reach via the public transportation. The Aquarium gives visitors a sneak peek into the marine life that lives in the Bay here and is a great experience for children!
