Washington Square
browse (1 / 3)

Washington Square is located in North Beach, amidst the bustling Italian community. Washington Square is situated next to St. Peter and St. Paul Church and provides a tranquil park in the middle of this busy area.

You can see Telegraph hill and Coit tower from here. It is a lovely atmosphere which draws visitors the community and abroad. Surrounding the park there are many café’s and bars perfect for relaxing and enjoying a drink.

Shop at some of the surrounding deli’s and make your own gourmet picnic. This is one of the best places to enjoy it!

Take part in some Thai Chi in the park – its becoming a popular way to spend a morning at Washington Square. Watch Chinese ladies take part in this ancient art.

Mornings at Washington Square are a great way to start your day. Mama’s on Washington Square is a must. Come and have the most scrumptious breakfast in San Francisco! Not only is it the most original breakfast menu in the city, it has a great atmosphere too. Mama’s is tiny and consists of only 12 tables. Come early and beat the queue (Mama’s opens at 8a.m.).

If you are in the North Beach area then stop by Washington Square for a rest. If you have been exploring San Francisco by foot then this grassy area is a perfect resting point before continuing on to Coit tower and the rest of San Francisco.

Come and see Washington square and spend some time relaxing in this tranquil place.
