Castro Valley is situated in Alameda County, California, approximately 27 miles southeast of San Francisco. The community is served by Interstates 580 and 880, and the Bay Area Rapid Transit system which has a station in Castro Valley.

Castro Valley is one of the largest unincorporated towns in California which means that they do not have a recognized government system.
