Novato
Novato is situated in Marin County California, and is approximately 27 miles north of San Francisco. This is a perfect location to explore the Bay area, San Francisco, and the gorgeous Napa and Sonoma wine region.
Although the city has a bustling retail district, it retains its charming rural atmosphere. Old Town Novato is beautiful with tree lined streets and historic buildings. Along Grant Avenue, there are quaint shops and excellent restaurants and throughout the city there are various other shopping areas located such as the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center, featuring over 50 retail stores. A Farmers Market is held weekly downtown in Grant Avenue, and is a great opportunity for vendors to showcase their products, as well as to interact with people of the community.
Novato has a low population concentration and there are wonderful major city parks, as well as 27 other parks located throughout the city. At Stafford Lake there are lake fishing, nature trails to explore, picnic and barbecue facilities, lovely lawn areas, and volleyball courts. Beautiful vistas of the lake and Novato hills can be enjoyed from this location. There are lots of other nearby attractions and include visits to Muir Woods, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and Mount Tamalpais State Park.
The community of Novato hosts several events which include the Novato Festival of Art, a wonderful parade downtown on Independence Day, and Concerts in the Park during the summer time.
Various golf courses are located in and near Novato. Stone Tree Golf Club is a challenging course for skilled and less experienced golfers.
Novato is a warm and friendly city that offer the visitor beautiful countryside surroundings, great shopping and cuisine, and with an abundance of attractions, is a lovely location for a vacation.
