Pacifica
Pacifica is in San Mateo County California, on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, between San Francisco and Half Moon Bay.
Pacifica is a natural beautiful city with stunning surroundings, and has the ambiance of a small town. There is no official town center as Pacifica developed as several individual neighborhoods, each with their own chain of small shopping centers and commercial districts. Communities’ homes nestle between gorgeous beaches, rolling hills and tranquil valleys, with the Pacific Ocean in the background. Restaurants are in abundance, and visitors can satisfy their taste buds with choices ranging from traditional American to ethnic Mexican cuisine.
Pacifica has a colorful and rich historical and cultural heritage. Live theater plays are performed at the Pacifica Spindrift Players and for art shows and events the Sanchez Art Center is a fabulous venue. Annual events hosted by Pacifica include egg hunts at Fairmont Park, and an Independence Day fireworks celebration.
The city of Pacifica has vast protected open space, with more than half of the land being city and state parks. The city has beautiful beaches, scattered with tiny pocket inlets and gorgeous rolling sandy dunes, which offer visitors’ excellent swimming, fishing and surfing opportunity. At Milagra Ridge, a 239 acre National Park Service open space, breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean framed by the ridges of the coast range, can be seen. There are several level and paved hiking and biking trails in the surrounding hills. Other activities offered to visitors are bird watching, scuba diving, boating and horseback riding. For the sports lover there are tennis, archery, golf and bowling.
