Old Point Reyes Schoolhouse Compound offers various accommodation types within rustic and serene surroundings. Jasmine Cottage offer privacy and seclusion, queen and twin beds, a well stocked fully equipped kitchen, laundry room, and lots of books and games for the children. A lovely cottage garden features a double hammock for quiet contemplation, barbecue facilities, a Mexican fireplace, and a picnic table under the trees for alfresco dining. A VCR and monitor are available for viewing an extensive nature video library.

At the furthest end of Old Point Reyes Compound, Gray’s Retreat offer spectacular views of Point Reyes Seashore and Elephant Mountain. The interior is stylish and elegant and has a living room, fireplace, bath tub and shower, fully equipped kitchen, two private patios, and a spa tub across the garden. Unique original art of the natural beautiful Point Reyes grace the walls. Gray’s Retreat has an antique four poster queen bed, a day bed in the living room and a couch that converts to a double bed. There also a cable television, VCR, telephone, and laundry facilities.

The Barn Loft is a small hideaway and has the best views. A sleeping loft with a skylight will lull guests to sleep while stargazing. The stylish futon sofa on the ground floor converts to a double bed. There is a beautiful fireplace, television monitor with a nature video collection, and a charming tiny fully equipped kitchen stocked with herbs and spices, and coffees and teas. The private patio garden has a double hammock, fountain and dining area where guests can relax and watch the hummingbirds. The spa is set in its own secluded garden. When the owners of Old Point Reyes Compound is not in residence, the Old Point Reyes Schoolhouse is available for rental. It features three bedrooms and three bathrooms, gourmet kitchen, office, sun room, a naturalist’s library, baby grand piano, and a furnished patio with gas grill. There is also wireless internet, telephone, cable television and two fireplaces.

Beach chairs and prepared picnic baskets are provided in all of the accommodations. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement. For special events the entire Old Point Reyes Schoolhouse Compound can be rented.

The beautiful surroundings offer ample opportunity for hiking, walking, swimming, fishing, whale watching and sightseeing. Splendid attractions in the region include Point Reyes Lighthouse and Muir Woods.
