Vallejo is in Solano County, California, and is approximately 32 miles from San Francisco. The city offer excellent commuting services to San Francisco and the East Bay by high speed ferry.
Vallejo is a friendly, proud and close knit waterfront community. The community was actively involved with upgrading and remodeling the Waterfront and Mare Island areas which economically generates a huge income for the town. Downtown Vallejo features many beautiful restored historic Victorian businesses and homes. Vallejo’s strong economy and reasonably priced housing makes it a popular destination for businesses and new residents. Visitors have a variety of ethnic restaurants to choose from in the downtown area. There are also splendid restaurants located at the Marina and at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Vallejo has a Farmers Market where locals can sell their homegrown products.
The Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, formerly known as Six Flags Marine World, is one of Vallejo’s most trendy and visited attractions. It is a combination of a wildlife park, theme park, and an ocean aquarium, the only one of its kind in the world, and is a wonderful exciting and informative place for the whole family to explore. The upgraded Waterfront and municipal Marina offer visitor’s ample opportunity to fish, sail, yachting and jet skiing. Vallejo hosts the Vallejo Jazz, Art & Wine Festival at the Waterfront Marina, with world class jazz performers participating in the two day event.
There are several golf courses in the area such as Blue Rock Springs, and Mare Island Golf Course.
